The Men in the Arena

We invite you to learn more about our individual backgrounds, our approach to law, and how we can assist you with your legal needs. At MJ Law, you’re not just a client—you’re a partner in a journey toward justice, supported by two best friends who never gave up on their dream.

Thank you for considering us as your legal advocates. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you.

The idea of MJ Law started at Syracuse University College of Law where we first met as eager law students and we eventually became roommates. Our friendship was solidified as we attended similar classes, debated the nuances of constitutional and criminal law, and tackled challenging trial competitions together. In doing so, we developed a deep respect for each other’s skills and our differing perspectives on various legal issues. From those early days, we knew that our paths were intertwined—not just as classmates, but as partners in a shared vision for justice.

After graduation, life took us to different corners of the country: Jordan returned home to California and Jacob returned to Florida; however, our plan for MJ Law never dissipated. We understood that to truly advocate for individuals and businesses against well-funded adversaries, we would need to learn how they tick. So, after graduating from law school we kept in close contact to keep each other informed on important legal strategies and to make certain that we were acquiring the skills and experience necessary to make MJ Law a reality.

Over the next eight years, we honed our craft, gaining invaluable experience and insight into the tactics and strategies employed by prosecutors on the criminal side of the law and by the biggest insurance companies in the world on the civil side of the law. During that time, we were mentored by some of the most successful and distinguished trial lawyers and litigators in the country and we maintained constant contact, sharing our experiences, discussing legal strategies, and supporting each other in our professional growth.

Despite the miles between us, our friendship never wavered, and our dream of building a successful law firm together remained a guiding light. We knew that combining our expertise and passion would allow us to offer a unique and powerful service to our clients. After years of preparation and planning, we decided it was time to bring our families to Nashville, Tennessee—a city that has welcomed us with open arms and has provided the perfect backdrop for our new venture.

At MJ Law, we are driven by our commitment to justice and our shared vision of providing exceptional legal representation. Just as we did during our law school debates and trial competitions, we continue to hold ourselves to a very high standard, a standard that that greatly benefits our clients. While our firm stands out from the rest of the pack due to our extensive trial and litigation experience, the primary reasons you should hire MJ Law include:

  1. Our intimate knowledge of your adversary’s playbook
  2. The deep trust and camaraderie that defines our partnership
  3. This firm is not just a “stepping stone” for Jacob’s and Jordan’s legal career, it’s their endgame. It’s the product of many years of planning and practical experience. This firm is deeply personal to Jacob and Jordan and so is your case.

We understand the complexities of personal injury and criminal defense matters from both sides of the courtroom, and we use this comprehensive understanding to advocate fiercely on behalf of our clients.
